NIPA and Wolters Kluwer Law & Business Present Webcast: Qualified Plans in a Challenging Economy

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., June 8, 2009) – The National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA) and Wolters Kluwer Law & Business have joined forces to present a 100-minute webcast entitled Qualified Plans in a Challenging Economy on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at noon Eastern, 11 a.m Central, 9 a.m. Pacific. NIPA is a national association representing the retirement and employee benefit plan administration profession. During the webcast, Wolters Kluwer Law & Business Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) Stephen Canter will explore how third-party administrators (TPAs) and business owners can strategically handle issues with qualified retirement plans and better manage their plan needs in a tough economic climate and an ever-changing industry. About the Presenter

Stephen Canter, QPA has been in the retirement plan industry for nearly 14 years. He worked as a consultant and third-party administrator for 12 years before joining TAGdata and Wolters Kluwer Law & Business. As a consultant, Canter’s primary focus has been in the defined contribution field, with an emphasis on testing, consulting and ESOPs.

Canter currently serves as an Editor for Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, working both with TAG customers answering questions and lending his expertise in the editorial field and product development area.

Canter has a degree in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University. He earned the QPA designation from the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). Canter has given presentations on ESOPs to various ASPPA groups, and spoke at the ASPPA 2005 Annual Conference. He has also established and conducted various workshops for plan sponsors, HR personnel, administrators and CEOs. Canter has been serving on the ASPPA’s Education and Examination Committee since 2002.
