CCH and CCH Small Firm Services Offer TaxScripts® TaxPro for IRS Transcripts in Seconds

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., January 12, 2009) – Tax professionals can now save valuable time obtaining client documents from the Internal Revenue Service using a new online service offered by CCH and CCH Small Firm Services, both part of Wolters Kluwer Tax and Accounting.

CCH has partnered with TaxScripts, Inc. to bring practitioners TaxScripts® TaxPro, the electronic solution to obtaining IRS transcripts quickly. TaxScripts, Inc. is the leading provider of proprietary software designed to increase the productivity of Enrolled Agents, CPAs, attorneys and unenrolled tax preparers in filing Disclosure Authorizations or requesting IRS transcripts.

The new front-end application, called TaxScripts TaxPro, enables tax professionals to create and submit Disclosure Authorizations and IRS transcript requests in seconds.

“Thanks to our partnership with TaxScripts, Inc., both CCH and CCH Small Firm Services customers can now avoid the current challenges practitioners face in obtaining IRS transcripts,” said CCH Product Manager Cindy Kaplan. “It increases professionals’ efficiency and frees up time for more valuable tasks.”

TaxScripts TaxPro allows Enrolled Agents, CPAs and attorneys to create Disclosure Authorizations and IRS transcript requests in seconds. Any tax practitioner who has filed at least five electronic tax returns in the past year may also use this new service.

TaxScripts TaxPro gathers personal profile data just once. Then, for each request, users simply follow on-screen prompts to create Disclosure Authorizations and transcript requests, including details such as the types of information sought and tax years at issue.

With a click, TaxScripts TaxPro then uploads the request to the IRS, and automatically downloads the data and sends it to the user’s printer.

“There simply is no faster or more efficient way to submit Disclosure Authorizations or get IRS transcripts,” said CCH Small Firm Services Product Manager Bo Brown.
