New Worldwide Tax Rates and Answers: Middle East and Africa from CCH

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., November 5, 2008) – CCH has expanded its coverage of taxes around the world with the release of Worldwide Tax Rates and Answers: Middle East and Africa. This unique online tax compliance and research product for companies doing business in the key emerging countries around the world provides real-time national and local tax rates, as well as tax forms and instructions fully translated into English and up-to-date answers to the most frequently encountered tax questions in each country. Another unique feature of the product is real-time legislative tracking that provides instant access to future tax rates. CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business is a leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services (CCHGroup.com).

This is the sixth component of CCH’s Worldwide Tax Rates and Answers Series designed to bring tax professionals the most current individual country tax information available and brings the total coverage of the Worldwide Tax Rates and Answers library to 90 countries.

Worldwide Tax Rates and Answers: Middle East and Africa presents vital, easy-to-access tax information for 16 important countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Botswana, Dubai (UAE), Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Tunisia.

“The current global financial crisis has resulted in increased government and regulatory oversight of multinational corporations. This tighter scrutiny and the compliance requirements that are soon to follow, on top of the already increased compliance requirements resulting from SOX and FIN 48 has made it essential that companies doing business abroad have the most up-to-date tax information as well as historical cross-border information,” said Mark Friedlich, CCH Editorial Director for International Tax, Accounting and Auditing and Estate Planning.

“This latest addition to the Worldwide Tax Rates and Answers Series now increases the number of countries available to 90 around the world, providing real-time updating of corporate income, VAT and withholding tax rates, a three-year rolling archive of prior years’ tax rates and legislative tracking to cover future rate changes. It includes corporate income tax, VAT and withholding tax forms and instructions fully translated into English and thousands of answers to the most commonly encountered tax questions, all kept completely up-to-date,” Friedlich added.

Smart Charts™ for Quick Answers

Worldwide Tax Rates and Answers: Middle East and Africa uses Smart Chart™ technology that allows users to quickly access rates and get answers to key tax questions in each of the countries, presented in chart format for easy comparisons across jurisdictions. It provides real-time national and local tax rates, current tax forms and instructions fully translated into English, plus specific answers to key country tax compliance issues updated every month. It is prepared and maintained by tax experts located in each of the countries.

Currently there are approximately 220 common questions and answers for all 16 countries, arranged under 10 broad topics:
