Top Tax and Accounting Publications Honor CCH Leaders

(RIVERWOODS ILL., October 9, 2008) – Six CCH executives have been recognized nationally as top leaders in the profession by prominent tax and accounting publications, Accounting Today and The CPA Technology Advisor. Accounting Today’s “Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting”

Kevin Robert, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Tax and Accounting; CCH President Mike Sabbatis; and CCH Vice President of Product and Segment Management Bob Dias have been named to Accounting Today’s “Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting” list for 2008. The annual list encompasses the top professionals who have an active hand in shaping the current and future direction of accounting.

Accounting Today recognized Robert for leading worldwide expansion of CCH’s tax, accounting and audit solutions. Sabbatis was honored for restructuring CCH to focus more on customers not just as end users, but as part of the product development process and spearheading the company’s march into the corporate market. Dias was recognized for his pivotal role in driving product and service development throughout CCH.

Robert, Sabbatis and Dias have appeared on the list in prior years. The magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Bill Carlino, noted that the competition to be included in the 2008 list involved “whittling down” over 200 potential candidates.

The CPA Technology Advisor’s “Top 40 under 40”

CCH Director of Software Development Emad Georgy; Director of Federal and State Tax Editorial Tracy Mortenson; and Director of Product Management, Specialty Products, Brian Steinert and were honored recently by The CPA Technology Advisor as three of the nation’s “Top 40 under 40” recognizing tomorrow’s leaders in tax and accounting.

Mortenson and Steinert have been recognized in previous years, while Georgy joins the list for the first time.

The CPA Technology Advisor selected 40 professionals, all under the age of 40, based on their current leadership in and around the field of public accounting, and for the role they appear ready to assume in guiding the profession into the future.

In The CPA Technology Advisor’s own words, the 40 under 40 designation recognizes “a new cadre of leaders who will be responsible for the continued evolution of technology in the practice.”
