ProSystem fx ActiveData from CCH Offers High-end Financial Analysis and Manipulation Capabilities for All
(GRAPEVINE, TEXAS, November 5, 2007) – As a result of a partnership with InformationActive, CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services, has added ProSystem fx ActiveData to its suite of ProSystem fx Office products, which further builds out its audit and accounting offerings (CCHGroup.com).
As a computer-aided auditing technology tool (CAATT), ProSystem fx ActiveData is a data extraction and analysis tool that can be used to automate a full complement of audit processes directly within Microsoft Excel®, including more than 70 time-saving functions that simplify everything from sampling to sophisticated fraud detection.
With audits becoming increasingly complex with more emphasis in fraud detection and assessment of risk, it’s more critical than ever for audit professionals to have the appropriate tools. ProSystem fx ActiveData offers p owerful analysis features such as group summaries: gap and duplicate detection; stratification; and digital analysis using Benford’s law.
“Until now, data analysis capabilities such as these have only been available in specialized, complex applications, but with the new auditing standards, these should be a part of every professional’s tool kit – and CCH has put them there,” said Brian Steinert, CCH product manager.
Easy to Learn, Use
As a Microsoft Excel plug-in, ProSystem fx ActiveData simplifies data extraction and analysis by leveraging a tool professionals already use. Tight integration with Microsoft® Excel results in a substantially lower learning curve than other products on the market. Users can save time by performing complex calculations with just a few clicks. It also supports greater accuracy and efficiency, and improves productivity by eliminating manual calculations and data manipulation.
“The capabilities are powerful, but ProSystem fx ActiveData is built on a familiar interface, so users leverage their existing skills to produce results quickly and easily,” Steinert noted.
“We are very pleased to partner with CCH, a true leader in the accounting software field,” said Michael Pluscauskas, President of InformationActive Inc. “Our current users love ActiveData’s simplicity, ease of use and complete integration with Microsoft Excel and we are very excited that CCH customers will have the opportunity to use ActiveData to work even smarter and faster.”
