New, Timely CCH Seminar: Understanding the New Cafeteria Plan and Dependent Care Regs

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., August 31, 2007) – To help plan sponsors, administrators and human resources professionals understand the significance of new IRS regulations, CCH is presenting an audio seminar entitled Understanding the New Cafeteria Plan and Dependent Care Regs with Ashley Gillihan, Esq., of Alston & Bird, LLP Thursday, September 20, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Eastern; 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Central. CCH is a leading provider of business compliance information and software and a part of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business (hr.cch.com).

In a flurry of late summer activity, the Internal Revenue Service issued a new set of proposed cafeteria plan regulations, incorporating much of the formal and informal guidance related to cafeteria plans and flexible spending accounts issued over the last 30 years. A week later, IRS released final regulations regarding employment-related expenses under the dependent care credit and dependent care flexible spending accounts. Gillihan, author of the Flexible Benefits Answer Book published by Aspen Publishers, also part of the Wolters Kluwer Law & Business group, will review both these new sets of regulations.

Understanding the New Cafeteria Plan and Dependent Care Regs will answer the following questions:

  • What do the new cafeteria plan and dependent care regulations say generally?
  • What has changed under the new regulations?
  • What important clarifications did the IRS make?
  • What steps are required to implement the requirements of the new regulations?

The seminar includes a live question-and-answer session. To register, visit hr.cch.com/audio or call 1-800-775-7654.
