CCH Coolbar Powered By VCM Turns Outlook into Enterprise Tool
New Partnership Enhances Professionals’ Productivity
(RIVERWOODS, ILL., July 19, 2007) – Accountants can now turn Microsoft Outlook® into a powerful enterprise tool with the CCH Coolbar, a new workstation add-on for ProSystem fx Practice Management, made possible by a strategic partnership between CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, and VCM Software Ltd. The CCH Coolbar is a multi-function toolbar that links Outlook e-mails, appointments and tasks to clients, business affiliates, leads and referrals in the ProSystem fx Practice Management database. CCH is a leading provider of tax, audit and accounting information, software and services (CCHGroup.com).
“As a strategic partner to our customers, CCH is always looking for new and innovative ways to streamline professionals’ workflow and enhance productivity,” said Annie Brown, CCH product manager. “Our relationship with VCM accomplishes just that. We know our customers find Outlook to be an important productivity tool and we wanted to tie our applications to Outlook for that reason. VCM provided a proven solution with the VCM CoolBar and now professionals can increase efficiency and save steps in driving maximum value out of both Outlook and Practice Management.”
“We are excited to have the opportunity to partner with CCH, the standard-setter in the accounting software industry,” said Kevin Pearl, CEO, VCM Software. “Our alliance will provide CCH customers, through the use of the CCH Coolbar, with the advantage of having access to the powerful ProSystem fx Practice Management database while staying within the Outlook environment, saving valuable time and increasing productivity.”
Manages Appointments, Tasks, More
With the CCH Coolbar installed on Outlook, users can manage messages, appointments and tasks, tagging them to Practice Management clients, referrals, business affiliates and leads. They can also enter time, tasks and appointments from the CCH Coolbar to their Practice Management timesheets.
Users can also gain quick access to the wealth of client, business affiliate, lead and referral information stored in the ProSystem fx Practice Management database by clicking on a “Data Center” button on the CCH Coolbar. This allows them, within the framework of Outlook, to review live firm information (such as AR, WIP, cash receipts) from ProSystem fx Practice Management.
“The CCH Coolbar turbo-charges the way firms get things done because so much can be accomplished without leaving Outlook,” Brown noted.
