CCH Presents Audio Seminar: “Return of the IC-DISC”

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., November 10, 2006) – CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a leading provider of tax information, software and services is presenting an audio seminar entitled “Return of the IC-DISC: Tax Savings for Closely Held Exporters” featuring noted attorney Robert J. Misey, Jr. on Friday, November 17, at 2 p.m. Eastern, 1 p.m. Central (CCHGroup.com/Audioseminars).

An Interest Charge-Domestic International Sales Corporation (IC-DISC) allows closely held exporters to use the current 15-percent capital gains tax rate on qualified dividends, thus creating tremendous tax savings. In this timely audio seminar, Misey will show participants how to realize these benefits for their clients.

Specific topics include:

  • History of Export Benefits;
  • Taxation of an IC-DISC and Its Shareholders;
  • The Tests to Qualify as an IC-DISC;
  • Sales of Export Property by an IC-DISC;
  • The Manufacturing Requirement;
  • The Destination Requirement;
  • The Minimum of 50 Percent U.S. Content Requirement;
  • Determining the IC-DISC Benefit;
  • Maximizing the IC-DISC Income;
  • Costing and Expense Allocations;
  • Structuring the IC-DISC;
  • Implementation Considerations for the IC-DISC; and
  • The Future of the 15-percent Rate on Dividends.

The seminar will include a live question-and-answer session.

This is a great opportunity for professionals who deal with closely held export-oriented companies to invite their clients to hear a timely update from an industry expert.
