ProSystem fx Engagement 4.5 from CCH Remains on Cutting Edge
(RIVERWOODS, ILL., August 31, 2006) – CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a leading provider of tax and accounting information, productivity software and services, has announced the release of ProSystem fx Engagement 4.5, the latest version of its award-winning paperless engagement tool. Engagement is part of the ProSystem fx Office, an integrated suite of applications that streamlines accountants’ workflow and increases productivity (CCHGroup.com).
“We continue to refine ProSystem fx Engagement to keep it on the cutting edge and to meet the ever-changing challenges of the profession,” said Brian Steinert, CCH product manager.
Enhanced Audit Documentation
One notable enhancement is in the area of audit documentation, with a new set of enhanced capabilities to meet the latest accounting and regulatory standards. Workpaper completion dates now track to ensure compliance with 45- or 60-day requirements, as well as custom-defined periods. Retention periods of up to 10 years can be designated. New staff rights and tracking reports have been added for increased security and monitoring.
Administrators can manage the type of binders used within the firm, such as audit, tax, compilations and so on. Administrators can create new binder types and delete or modify existing binder types and their properties in conjunction with the audit documentation enhancement.
In addition, ProSystem fx Engagement users now have the ability to import trial balance data from a source trial balance in one binder to a target trial balance in another.
“This feature is useful when the completion date has passed and the binder has been finalized, but the tax return still needs to be completed,” Steinert noted.
Refinements, Simplified Administration
Users will find many refinements in the latest version of ProSystem fx Engagement. Release 4.5 supports the use of dual monitors for PDF files, enabling easy side-by-side comparison of documents. Synchronization also is quicker and smoother, and exports to ProSystem fx Tax are now quicker in Terminal Server and Citrix environments.
Administrators will find that the latest release of Engagement simplifies their work, as well. The new release features electronic permkeys that make it easier to administer licensing, and administrators can download the permission key files directly into the Engagement Administrator module, or download and save them from the CCH web site at CCHGroup.com. In addition, an MSI file makes it possible for administrators to install updates more efficiently from one location by distribution through Active Directory.
“These enhancements to ProSystem fx Engagement came about because we believe in forming strategic partnerships with our customers, listening to their needs and building products that truly help them reach their goals,” Steinert said.
