CCH Learning Center Adds Specialty Online CPE Libraries

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., November 30, 2005) – CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business (CCH) and a leading provider of tax and accounting information, productivity software and services, has added two new specialized libraries to the CCH Learning Center: the Accounting and Audit Specialty Library and the Sales and Use Tax Specialty Library. The CCH Learning Center (cch.learningcenter.com) is a web-based library of more than 170 interactive, self-study continuing professional education (CPE) courses on a wide range of topics totaling more than 485 hours of CPE credit.

“These new libraries allow professionals to not only meet their continuing professional education requirements, but to gain in-depth background in growing, high value-added specialty practice areas,” said Cynthia Kaplan, CCH product manager.

Accounting and Audit Specialty Library

The Accounting and Audit Specialty Library offers a comprehensive line of current self-study CPE courses.  Included in the Library is compelling and authoritative content, practical guidance and practice aids to help assist in applying the knowledge gained.  The Library covers a broad range of topics; including fraud, recently issued standards and specialized areas such as governmental auditing and not-for-profit organizations.

In addition, the courses include links to sources of additional information within CCH’s Accounting Research Manager® (ARM).  Subscribers to this Library can access more than 65 courses worth more than 170 CPE credits.  The CCH Accounting and Audit Specialty Library serves as a valuable research tool and helps practitioners meet their A&A CPE requirements. New courses are continuously being added throughout the year, so users will have access to even more courses to help them learn new skills and expand their expertise.

Sales and Use Tax Specialty Library

The Sales and Use Tax Specialty Library guides professionals through one of the most dynamic areas of tax law and practice.  The engaging, web-based self-study CPE courses provide introduction to core sales and use taxation issues and help practitioners effectively deal with this often complex area of taxation.  Included in the Library is compelling and authoritative content, practical guidance and practice aids to help users apply the knowledge gained.

Many of the courses include charts that provide state-by-state quick-answer references for topics such as tax treatment of computer software, electronic payment of taxes, statutes of limitations, penalties, mail order tax collections and more.  In addition, the courses include links to sources of additional information within the CCH ® Tax Research Network™, and insightful supplementary articles that provide further insight on the course topic.  Subscribers to the Library can access 10 courses worth more than 25 CPE credits on this important tax area.  More courses are added throughout the year, so users will always receive additional opportunities to expand their knowledge from this Library.
