CCH and HCCA Partner to Provide Robust New Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., DECEMBER 14, 2004) – CCH INCORPORATED (CCH) and the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) have teamed up to launch the new Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual for compliance professionals nationwide. Under the new partnership, CCH is now publishing an enhanced version of the Manual in print and on the Internet for both HCCA members and other professionals who demand timely, comprehensive information and guidance on critical compliance issues.

The Manual, also referred to as the Compliance Blue Book, is considered to be the premier compliance resource for health care professionals. It is one of the key resources used for health care compliance certification by the HCCA, which relies on the Manual in its training programs for compliance officers at all levels. The new Manual is a critical tool for compliance professionals on the job, providing complete, up-to-date information they need each and every day.

CCH Introduces Comprehensive Enhancements

The new Manual by CCH makes it easier than ever for compliance professionals to stay current on a wide range of information in this fast-changing field. Previously available in print only, the Manual is now available on CCH’s robust Internet Research NetWork, ensuring that professionals have the most timely, easily searchable information at their fingertips, when they need it.

The Manual also now delivers more comprehensive content, updated regularly as changes occur, including the latest information on: billing and coding; HIPAA and Stark to Corporate Integrity Agreements; fraud and abuse; and how to maintain an ongoing and effective compliance program.

In addition to offering expanded content, more frequent updates and electronic accessibility, the Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual now has the capability of linking with primary source materials — from Federal Register documents and OIG opinions, to regulations and guidelines from the Department of Justice.

The new Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual will replace the CCH Healthcare Compliance Guide. Effective immediately, all Healthcare Compliance Guide customers will now receive the Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual in its place.

"As one of the key resources used for health care compliance certification, the Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual must be the most robust, reliable resource available," noted Al Josephs, HCCA President. "In an effort to make this blue-ribbon resource an even more effective compliance tool, we turned to CCH — a leader in tracking and analyzing health law information for over 35 years."

"CCH is pleased to partner with the HCCA to offer the new Health Care Compliance Professional’s Manual," said Angela Darrow, CCH marketing manager. "With CCH’s expertise in timely health law reporting and analysis, and HCCA’s longstanding compliance expertise, the new Manual will help ensure that compliance professionals everywhere have ready access to timely and comprehensive information."
