CCH’s Accounting Research Manager™ Enhances Content
(RIVERWOODS, ILL., November 15, 2004) – CCH Tax and Accounting’s Accounting Research Manager (ARM) – the premier research database of accounting, auditing, SEC and governmental authoritative literature and interpretive guidance – has added two highly useful entries to the authoritative Miller series: Miller GAAP Financial Statements Disclosures Manual and Miller Attestation Engagements. This new content is available to current and new users of ARM at no additional cost. CCH Tax and Accounting (CCH) is a leading provider of tax and accounting information, software and services (tax.cchgroup.com).
"These latest additions to the Accounting Research Manager are precisely the kind of resources that professionals reach for first – authoritative works that give straightforward answers and reduce working time with expert, ready-to-use solutions," said Cynthia Arias, product manager.
"What’s more, new users can try out the Accounting Research Manager and this new content with no financial obligation through a free trial," Arias added.
Disclosures Manual Is Complete, Quick Reference
The Miller GAAP Financial Statements Disclosures Manual provides a complete, quick and valuable reference source for financial statement disclosures. The Manual contains more than 900 examples of realistic sample footnote disclosures to assist in the preparation of financial statements for an audit, review or compilation engagement. It facilitates compliance with authoritative pronouncements by integrating, in each chapter, specific disclosure requirements with the sample footnotes.
The Manual provides sample disclosures that are technically sound, understandable, and comprehensive and cover a variety of scenarios, from the most common to the most unusual. It is designed for ease of use, with information organized both by disclosure topic and by the disclosure’s location in the financial statement. Each chapter provides all of the information needed for a specific topic and consists of an executive summary, a listing of relevant authoritative literature, a listing of disclosure requirements mandated by GAAP and specific examples of disclosures.
The Manual also includes a financial statement disclosures checklist that provides a centralized resource of the required and recommended GAAP disclosures currently in use, to assist in determining whether the required financial statement disclosures have been made.
All of the documents can be used as templates and modified to fit specific needs.
Miller Attestation Engagements Provides Comprehensive Guidance
This title provides comprehensive guidance on conducting a variety of attestation engagements, including examination, agreed-upon procedures, compliance, internal control, due diligence and prospective financial information engagements. For all types of engagements, Miller Attestation Engagements reduces the technical language of official pronouncements to easy-to-read and easy-to-understand advice and procedures. In addition, numerous practice aids in the form of checklists, questionnaires, workpapers, sample correspondence and sample reports assist in taking an attest engagement from the initial evaluation of a client to issuance of the appropriate report.
This first edition of Miller Attestation Engagements is complete through AICPA Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 12, Amendment to Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 10, Attestation Standards: Revision and Recodification. It also reflects guidance from the SEC and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) concerning management assessment of, and CPA attestation to, internal controls over financial reporting.
In addition to answers for over 600 frequently asked questions on how to implement the standards, users get over 350 illustrations, including checklists and practice aids. The time-saving practice aids help users plan and execute auditing and attest engagements and quickly integrate the standards into practice.
