CCH Tax and Accounting Unveils Intuitive, State-of-Art New User Interface for ProSystem fx Tax
(RIVERWOODS, ILL., August 16, 2004) – Users of ProSystem fx Tax from CCH Tax and Accounting (CCH) will now benefit from a new intuitive and streamlined user interface that leverages the latest technologies. The "Worksheet View" allows users to input data directly onto worksheets and consolidate the information necessary to complete a government form into one convenient location.
"The new Worksheet View offers a major improvement in ease-of-use functionality, and we’re very excited about it, as are our customers," said Mike Sabbatis, vice president of Sales and Marketing for CCH Tax and Accounting. "This more intuitive new user interface will make data entry easier than ever before, and it integrates new technologies into the software, providing a solid platform for future enhancements."
The new user interface is available with release 2003.06000 that shipped to ProSystem fx Tax customers on August 5. It will exist side-by-side with the traditional "Interview" style input method, and will allow for data entered in one view to be automatically reflected in other views. This functionality will let firm staff members explore the new input method at a pace that’s convenient for them.
Enhanced Organization and Navigation
With Worksheet View, enhanced organization and navigation ensure that new users are up-and-running quickly and current users transition easily.
Worksheets are grouped conveniently by categories, topics and sections. Related data, including common federal and state information, are grouped together to reduce the number of screens. A slide-out panel allows users to select the federal or any state return and quickly navigate to specific sections in the worksheet. Sections can also be opened by simply clicking the sections list, the section heading, or the expand/collapse arrow. In addition, the bottom portion of the panel can be used to manage entities (e.g., businesses, partnerships, rental properties, etc.).
Streamlined Data Entry
Many worksheet sections use grids to allow streamlined data entry with no need to add additional input sheets. To help ensure data is entered correctly, the description corresponding to the selected active field is highlighted. Date fields contain format guides such as "MM/DD/YY" while required fields for Electronic Filing will display "EF."
Users can view data such as interest or dividends in either summary or detail worksheets, easily switching back and forth between detailed and summary information.
Web Seminars Available
To help users become familiar with Worksheet View, CCH is offering free web seminars featuring the new user interface. Detailed information and a list of sessions starting in September are available at Tax.CCHGroup.com.
