CCH SEC Compliance Desktop Software Meets New Sarbanes-oxley Filing Requirements
(RIVERWOODS, ILL., August 19, 2002) – There is a solution already
available for companies who need to comply with the new insider
reporting requirements of the latest securities law, the
Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The CCH SEC Compliance Desktop, Section
16a Insider Reporting Module has the tools to fully comply with
the Act, according to CCH INCORPORATED (CCH), a leading provider of
securities law information and compliance software.
Under the recently passed legislation, beginning August 30, 2002,
trades by company insiders must be reported to the Securities and
Exchange Commission within two days of the transaction. By July 30,
2003, the SEC filing must be made electronically and, if the company
has one, the filing must be posted to the corporate web site within
one business day of filing with the Commission.
"Users of the CCH SEC Compliance Desktop, Section 16a
Insider Reporting Module have the ability to comply with all these
requirements today," said Peter Berkery, Associate Publisher of
the CCH Securities Group.
The Section 16a Insider Reporting Module automates the
creation and filing of Form 4, and is capable of filing multiple Form
4s within a month. Users can see the Form on-screen as they create it,
which helps catch errors. They can enter an unlimited number of
securities and footnotes to be applied to any transaction. The
software produces an HTML EDGARized Form 4, ready for electronic
filing, easing the two-day time limit by eliminating the need to send
a paper form by express delivery to the SEC.
In addition, all filings are maintained in a historical database.
"This meets the best practices of the industry," Berkery
noted.
Features Save Time, Ensure Accuracy
Like other modules in the SEC Compliance Desktop, the
software becomes "smarter" the more it is used. Once a piece
of information is entered, it doesn’t have to be entered again when
a new transaction has to be recorded. Instead, the data already in the
system is called up instantly and entered on new reporting forms.
There are also pick lists designed into the system wherever possible
to speed data entry. Extensive error-checking minimizes the
possibility of mistakes. Extensive filtering options allow the quick
generation of reports by use of multiple filters.

All modules in the CCH SEC Compliance Desktop are priced
individually to allow maximum flexibility, and discounts apply when
multiple modules are purchased.
