Wolters Kluwer North America Names Kim Becker To New Post Of VP, Communications
New York, NY - May 21, 2002 -- Wolters Kluwer North America
announced today the appointment of Kim Becker to the newly-created
position of Vice President, Communications, for the publishing and
professional services company’s North American business units,
Legal, Tax and Business North America (LTBNA). Today’s announcement
was made by Nancy McKinstry, CEO of LTBNA and Executive Board Member
of the Wolters Kluwer nv corporation. Wolters Kluwer was recently
recognized by Forbes Magazine’s coveted global "Best Big
Companies" business survey as the world’s leading global media
organization1.
Ms. Becker will report directly to Ms. McKinstry. She comes to
Wolters Kluwer from Bravo Networks, where she served as Vice
President, Public Relations for the business’ popular cable
networks, Bravo and The Independent Film Channel (IFC).
"Kim’s broad expertise in media business communications will
augment the activities within our multiple U.S. businesses,"
noted McKinstry. She added, "The formation of this key new
organizational role will bring us one step closer to achieving
communication synergy amongst our many businesses and our expanding
position in the U. S. marketplace."
Ms. Becker joined Bravo Networks in 1997 and held
several positions of increasing responsibility during her seven-year
tenure. Prior to joining Bravo Networks, Ms. Becker served as Manager,
Public Relations in the corporate headquarters of Barnes & Noble,
Inc. She has also worked as a Senior Account Supervisor at Dan Klores
Associates.
During her tenure at Bravo, Ms. Becker was selected
as a fellow of the cable industry’s prestigious 2000-01 Betsy
Magness Leadership Institute. Additionally, while at Bravo, she
completed the inaugural Graduate Media Management Program at New York’s
New School. Ms. Becker holds a B.A. in Dramatic Literature, Theater
History and Cinema from New York University. Ms. Becker will be based
out of the company’s corporate offices in New York City.
