Landoe To Head CCH Legal
Information Services, Robert To Become CEO Of CCH Tax Compliance
(CHICAGO, November 13, 2001) Wolters Kluwer North America (WK) announced today
that Gene Landoe has been named president and CEO of CCH Legal Information Services (LIS),
New York City, a leading provider of corporate agent representation, corporate filing and
UCC search and filing services. Landoe was formerly president and CEO of CCH Tax
Compliance, Torrance, Calif., the market-leading provider of tax and accounting software
and a Wolters Kluwer unit. Kevin Robert, formerly vice president and publisher, Federal
and State Tax (FAST), CCH U.S. Publishing, Riverwoods, Ill., will succeed Landoe as
president and CEO of CCH Tax Compliance.
"Gene brings to LIS a tremendous background in technology and information
service-based businesses for professionals, both critical to this very specialized and
highly regarded company," said Nancy McKinstry, CEO of Wolters Kluwer North America.
"He also has demonstrated a relentless dedication to customer service and
understanding the very specialized needs of attorneys, corporations and financial service
providers who depend on LIS for legal compliance and managing risk."
While CEO of CCH Tax Compliance, Landoe further enhanced the units ProSystem fx
product line, spearheading an aggressive acquisition program to build a full suite of
products for the accounting profession. In addition, he was instrumental in the
development of web-based applications for ProSystem fx and the integration of
software products with other CCH businesses via the recently launched Tax.CCHGroup
destination site for tax and accounting professionals.
Landoe has held several key positions in his 30-year career with CCH, including vice
president of customer service and operations at CCH U.S. Publishing, where he had
responsibility for customer service, product support, order management and fulfillment and
printing operations. Landoe also served as director of planning in the CCH editorial
organization, and was responsible for managing tax processing service bureau operations,
which preceded the companys conversion to the software business.
Landoe is a resident of Lake Forest, Ill. He holds a doctorate from Golden Gate University; an MBA from Chapman University, Orange,
Calif.; and a bachelors degree from Vanguard University, Costa Mesa, Calif.
As publisher for CCH FAST, Robert substantially expanded the units product
portfolio, targeting strategic, high-growth areas of sales and use tax, estate planning
and financial planning. He also was extensively involved in the development of the Tax.CCHGroup
destination site, serving as chairman of the project board.

software and information products for tax and accounting professionals is an enormous

During his more than 20 years with CCH, Robert has been extensively involved in sales
and marketing activities. As director of Sales and Marketing for FAST, he was instrumental
in the development and launch of the companys first web-based research service, CCH
Internet Tax Research NetWork. As director of Marketing for CCH Tax Compliance, he
oversaw the launch of the companys core tax preparation software product, ProSystem fx
Tax.
In addition he was director of Customer Service for CCH U.S. Publishing, implementing
new order management and customer service systems.
A resident of Lake Forest, Ill., Robert holds an MBA from Pepperdine University,
Malibu, Calif., and a bachelor's degree from the University of New Orleans.
