Landoe To Head CCH Legal Information Services, Robert To Become CEO Of CCH Tax Compliance

(CHICAGO, November 13, 2001) – Wolters Kluwer North America (WK) announced today that Gene Landoe has been named president and CEO of CCH Legal Information Services (LIS), New York City, a leading provider of corporate agent representation, corporate filing and UCC search and filing services. Landoe was formerly president and CEO of CCH Tax Compliance, Torrance, Calif., the market-leading provider of tax and accounting software and a Wolters Kluwer unit. Kevin Robert, formerly vice president and publisher, Federal and State Tax (FAST), CCH U.S. Publishing, Riverwoods, Ill., will succeed Landoe as president and CEO of CCH Tax Compliance.

"Gene brings to LIS a tremendous background in technology and information service-based businesses for professionals, both critical to this very specialized and highly regarded company," said Nancy McKinstry, CEO of Wolters Kluwer North America. "He also has demonstrated a relentless dedication to customer service and understanding the very specialized needs of attorneys, corporations and financial service providers who depend on LIS for legal compliance and managing risk."

While CEO of CCH Tax Compliance, Landoe further enhanced the unit’s ProSystem fx product line, spearheading an aggressive acquisition program to build a full suite of products for the accounting profession. In addition, he was instrumental in the development of web-based applications for ProSystem fx and the integration of software products with other CCH businesses via the recently launched Tax.CCHGroup destination site for tax and accounting professionals.

Landoe has held several key positions in his 30-year career with CCH, including vice president of customer service and operations at CCH U.S. Publishing, where he had responsibility for customer service, product support, order management and fulfillment and printing operations. Landoe also served as director of planning in the CCH editorial organization, and was responsible for managing tax processing service bureau operations, which preceded the company’s conversion to the software business.

Landoe is a resident of Lake Forest, Ill. He holds a doctorate from Golden Gate University; an MBA from Chapman University, Orange, Calif.; and a bachelor’s degree from Vanguard University, Costa Mesa, Calif.

As publisher for CCH FAST, Robert substantially expanded the unit’s product portfolio, targeting strategic, high-growth areas of sales and use tax, estate planning and financial planning. He also was extensively involved in the development of the Tax.CCHGroup destination site, serving as chairman of the project board.

"Kevin’s extensive experience in developing and successfully marketing valued software and information products for tax and accounting professionals is an enormous asset for CCH Tax Compliance," said McKinstry. "We’re confident CCH Tax Compliance will further expand its technology innovation and integration and outstanding customer support under Kevin’s guidance."

During his more than 20 years with CCH, Robert has been extensively involved in sales and marketing activities. As director of Sales and Marketing for FAST, he was instrumental in the development and launch of the company’s first web-based research service, CCH Internet Tax Research NetWork. As director of Marketing for CCH Tax Compliance, he oversaw the launch of the company’s core tax preparation software product, ProSystem fx Tax.

In addition he was director of Customer Service for CCH U.S. Publishing, implementing new order management and customer service systems.

A resident of Lake Forest, Ill., Robert holds an MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu, Calif., and a bachelor's degree from the University of New Orleans.
