CCH Adds Focused Online Cpe Courses For Time-pressed Professionals

Six of CCH’s new offerings are one-credit courses focused on topics of immediate value to clients and designed for time-pressed professionals, according to CCH Federal and State Tax group marketing manager Gail Portugal.

"Busy professionals sometimes have to meet their continuing education requirements over their lunch hours, on plane trips or between meetings with clients," Portugal noted. "We selected these topics and developed them with concise mini-course presentations, so a practitioner can take a course in the morning and save a client money that afternoon."

While users can complete entire courses online, they also have the convenient option of downloading a file, which they can read offline on their computers, or print out and read anywhere.

"Someone can log on and download and print the course, then do all the studying offline. But, they still have the advantage of taking the test and receiving credit instantly when they log back on," Portugal noted.

Writing Off Start-Up and Travel and Entertainment Expenses — shows how to maximize the write-offs allowed for starting a new business and travel and entertainment expenses.

In addition to these one-credit offerings, CCH has added to its Learning Center the four-unit course, Independent Contractor or Employee? This basic-level course reviews and clarifies the complex rules for determining a worker's classification, which in turn has multiple tax implications.
