Hensley Named President, CEO Of CCH INCORPORATED, New COO, Publisher For Tax Group Also Appointed

(CHICAGO, March 12, 1999) – Wolters Kluwer U.S. said today that it has named Rebecca Karnes Hensley as president and CEO of CCH INCORPORATED (CCH), Riverwoods, IL, a leading provider of tax and business law information and software. In addition, the publishing company said Hugo Van haecke will join CCH as chief operating officer, and that it has appointed Kevin L. Robert as publisher, CCH Federal and State Tax group.

Hensley is currently publisher of the CCH Federal and State Tax (FAST) group. She will succeed John R. Marozsan who, as announced earlier, will retire June 30, 1999, after a 24-year career with Wolters Kluwer (WK).

"Becky brings a wealth of industry experience to her new position at CCH," said Hugh J. Yarrington, a member of the Wolters Kluwer nv executive board and president, Wolters Kluwer U.S. "Her extensive background in publishing management, electronic product development, and editorial content management ensures CCH will remain one of the most successful and respected leaders in professional publishing."

Hensley, an attorney, brings a 26-year career in professional legal publishing to the CEO position at CCH.  As publisher of the FAST group, she directed the company's largest business unit, comprised of more than 150 print and electronic products covering federal, state, and international taxation.

In addition, she was head of the company’s Editorial Resource Center where she was responsible for content quality, electronic production, practice system development, workflow, and professional development. Before joining CCH in 1994, Hensley held a number of reporting, editorial, and management positions, including Executive Editor of Human Resources and Labor Products with The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc., a legal and regulatory publishing company in Washington, D.C.

A resident of Lake Forest, IL, she holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from George Washington University and a JD degree from Georgetown University.

Van haecke currently is chief financial officer for Wolters Kluwer Nederlands, a Deventer, Holland-based publisher of books and materials on a wide range of topics, including healthcare, science, law, social sciences, and business management.

In his 25-year career with Wolters Kluwer, Van haecke has served in a number of financial and operating management positions throughout the company's European publishing units, including Stanley Thornes Ltd, Kluwer Belgium, and IPSOA Editore Srl. A native of Belgium, he studied business economics at the University of Antwerp.

Robert is an 18-year veteran of CCH. In his current position as director of sales and marketing for CCH’s tax unit, he’s responsible for the marketing of all print and electronic tax products, as well as field and inside sales activities. Prior to joining the FAST group, he was head of Customer Service for the company, overseeing customer service operations, product support, and order management.

Robert began his CCH career with the company’s tax compliance unit, the leading provider of tax preparation software for accounting professionals. There, he held several sales and marketing management positions, including vice president of marketing.

He earned an MBA from Pepperdine University and his bachelor's degree from the University of New Orleans. He is a resident of Lake Forest, IL.
