Tax Guide For Journalists Now Available

Popular CCH Guide Offers Specialized Help for Journalists, Photographers

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., January 15, 1999) - CCH INCORPORATED (CCH), a leading provider of tax and business law information, has released the latest edition of its free, 64-page booklet, CCH Tax Guide for Journalists.

CCH Tax Guide for Journalists was developed specifically for print and electronic news reporters, photographers, freelance writers and others who write for a living. The plain-language booklet has been updated to include changes created by the Tax and Trade Relief Extension Act of 1998, especially those areas specific to a journalist's lifestyle and work.

The sixth edition of the Guide provides quick, easy-to-find information for completing 1998 tax returns. In addition, it provides valuable guidance for the 1999 tax year, including new information for those who maintain a home office, changes in deductions and income tax bracket levels.

Topics in the CCH Tax Guide for Journalists include: business expenses; foreign correspondents living abroad; income from prizes; awards and copyrights; libel insurance; online service fees; strike pay and union dues and home office deductions.

Authored by Susan Jacksack, an attorney and CCH tax analyst, CCH Tax Guide for Journalists also includes a glossary of tax terms and helpful information for tax planning, understanding IRS audits and choosing a tax preparer. In addition, the booklet includes a list of reporter services provided by CCH.
