CCH Reports Best E-filing Tax Season

CCH Electronic Filing Platform Relied on to Transmit More Than 11 Million Tax Returns

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., May 16, 2011) – As both the state revenue departments and IRS emphasize electronic filing, CCH announced it had its strongest e-filing tax season to date through its ProSystem fx® Tax and Global fx® Tax compliance solutions. CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business is the leading global provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services (CCHGroup.com).

“CCH’s tax solutions are unmatched in efficiency, accuracy and completeness,” said CCH Chief Technology Officer Brian Diffin. “Our solutions are the most comprehensive in the profession, easily processing all types of federal and state returns, and our electronic filing services help increase our customers’ productivity. This is proven by our very strong e-filing numbers for the 2010 tax season.”

For the 2010 income tax filing season, CCH’s electronic filing platform was relied upon by thousands of CPA firms to electronically transmit more than 11 million state and federal tax returns. At times, the CCH electronic filing platform transmitted nearly 100,000 tax returns an hour, and on April 18, the tax filing deadline date, the CCH platform transmitted nearly 1 million tax returns.

Even more important, CCH’s electronic filing system reported an availability rating in excess of 99.995 percent – the availability level required of a tier 4 data center.

“CCH expects to see continued growth in the electronic filing of tax returns and related tax documents,” said Joe Bergera, CCH Executive Vice President & General Manager, Tax. “For example, on April 14, 2011, U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and Tom Coburn, M.D. introduced a bill that would require employers who are filing W-2 forms with the Social Security Administration to submit their employee W-2 forms electronically. CCH is committed to continuing work with the IRS, CPAs and tax filers to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the nation's tax system.”
