New CPE Assistant From CCH Speeds CPE Recordkeeping

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., May 4, 2010) –There’s a new complete online management tool from CCH that cuts the time and cost of keeping CPE compliance records. CCH’s CPE Assistant™ monitors the progress of individual CPAs against their CPE requirements and provides regular e-mail reminders on CPE status and suggested next steps. CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, is a global leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services (CCHGroup.com).

“It can be difficult to make sure that the CPAs in a firm have fulfilled their CPE requirements,” said Product Manager Michelle Robin. “We designed CPE Assistant to provide a single, simple-to-use tool that records each person’s CPE credits – from the CCH Learning Center or any other source – and tracks progress against CPE requirements.”

CPE Assistant identifies CPE rules and requirements for the 50 CPA regulatory bodies that mandate CPE. It calculates limits on training formats and topics, monitors CPE hours completed against total hours needed, stores CPE certificates for easy retrieval and print, and much more.

CPE Assistant allows individuals and administrators to:

  • Show hours completed against hours needed in reporting period for each jurisdiction tracked;
  • Calculate limits on training format and topics, minimum requirements and carryover credit;
  • Receive e-mail reminders on CPE status;
  • Provide personalized recommendations to meet unmet requirements for CCH self-study courses; and
  • Produce reports by jurisdiction, CPE deadline, field of study and delivery method.

CPE Assistant automatically populates CCH Learning Center data into individual records, saving valuable time since no data entry is needed. It’s also easy to enter new training that is not part of the CCH Learning Center. A template speeds entry of the title of the training, completion date and the sponsor, format, jurisdiction and the amount of CPE credit.

“Whether the responsibility for CPE compliance falls solely on the individual or is shared with an administrator, CPE Assistant eases that burden and makes tracking progress and requirements simple and easy,” Robin said.
