CCH, GTM Partner to Deliver Comprehensive Sales and Use Tax Solution

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., September 9, 2009) – CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services is pleased to announce a new partnership with Global Tax Management, Inc. (GTM) to provide corporations using Oracle solutions in the corporate market with a comprehensive sales and use tax offering.

“Using the CCH software with the GTM expertise in the Oracle market will provide customers with a solution of the highest caliber,” said CCH Vice President, Advance Technology Scott Gruchot. “It will set a new level of expectations for the worth of a sales and use tax system.”

“We are looking forward to introducing the CCH software and providing our experience on maximizing the solution for the Oracle market,” said Jim Ford, Principal, GTM. “We have been leading the way in building custom Oracle solutions for tax departments, and the relationship with CCH and their products is a natural extension of that. The quality of the CCH research and data that goes into the product separates it from the competitors,” he added.

GTM’s middleware for CCH CorpSystem allows Oracle to communicate with the CCH suite of products in real time. The components include a PL/SQL middleware application that communicates with CCH’s web services and is deployed directly in the Oracle Applications database.

“We’ve built a specific interface for the CCH web services that allows Oracle to talk to CCH using techniques that are considered best practices by Oracle Administrators. We lean on standard Oracle functionality and inject CCH tax logic and tax rates into Oracle modules at critical moments. Our interface was built exclusively for CCH’s line of sales and use tax products,” Ford said.

Tax Departments Get Complete Control

The GTM Oracle integration eliminates some of the constraints and dependencies common with competing tax integrations. The integration transaction log records all activity between Oracle and CCH and includes detailed Oracle reports which can be configured as Excel® or PDF output. In addition, CCH includes a robust set of reports which are run directly from the CorpSystem suite.

The middleware, along with CCH’s applications, give tax departments complete control of their taxability in a complex ERP environment. Monthly updates ensure that not only tax rates are accurate but taxability as well. Oracle fields are mapped to the CCH product codes which drive taxability by state. Tax accounting, situs scenarios, freight taxability and business rules are configured during implementation to meet the client’s business needs.

GTM’s team brings years of Oracle expertise to the engagements and works directly with IT and Tax Departments to make sure that all requirements are met before companies go live. CCH’s world class systems and research ensure that tax departments can regain control of taxability scenarios and rate updates.
