CCH Offers Sales Tax Office Plug-in for Microsoft Dynamics NAV Integration

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., July 27, 2009) – New seamless integration built into the CorpSystem® Sales Tax Office product suite from CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, gives users of Microsoft Dynamics® NAV unprecedented time savings and enhanced sales tax functionality. CCH is a leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services (CCHGroup.com).

CCH’s Sales Tax Office application provides real-time address validation and tax calculation based on CCH’s proprietary database of rates and taxability rules covering thousands of products and services.

The Sales Tax OfficePlug-in for Microsoft Dynamics NAV supports tax calculation calls originated through the following NAV forms:

  • Sales Quote;
  • Sales Order;
  • Sales Invoice;
  • Sales Credit Memo;
  • Blanket Sales Order;
  • Sales Return Order;
  • Sales Order Shipment; and
  • Sales Order Invoice.

The Sales Tax OfficePlug-inforMicrosoft Dynamics NAV provides:

  • SKU upload functionality allowing for easy mapping of NAV SKUs to CCH product group and item categories;
  • Tax area codes at a state level to allow for different posting accounts for each state, as needed;
  • Exemptions supported at a line level;
  • A crash recovery mechanism which enables recovery in the case of failure of any part of the system when tax is being finalized after documents are posted;
  • Support for more than 3,000 lines on a single order, achieved by sending multiple transactions to Sales Tax Office; and
  • No interference with the stock tax calculation functionality of Dynamics NAV even though NAV does not normally allow stock tax calculation and external tax calculation on the same purchase order.

“State auditors are focusing more and more on companies’ sales and use tax compliance shortcomings as a way to offset revenue shortfalls,” said CCH Sales and Use Tax Product Manager Bruce Krumlauf. “Many financial managers simply don’t have the time to keep up with all the tax changes impacting their business. They may not even recognize how exposed they are in certain areas. CCH Sales Tax professionals and software solutions can help NAV users identify and eliminate critical areas of audit risk.”

Sales Tax Office Plug-in for Dynamics NAV brings a whole new level of accuracy and tax sophistication to Dynamics NAV to help eliminate those risks. With the current economic climate, this release couldn’t be happening at a more important time for the NAV Partner and user community,” Krumlauf added.
