CCH Offers New General Services Administration Acquisition Manual

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., June 9, 2009) – CCH now offers government contracting professionals a reliable new resource with the General Services Administration Acquisition Manual (GSAM). This convenient reference contains the full text of the General Services Acquisition Regulation (GSAR) and related agency guidance. CCH is part of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, a leading provider of research products and software solutions in key specialty areas for legal and business professionals.

The complete text of GSAR (48 CFR 500-599) and agency guidance is presented in a fully integrated format that follows the numbering system of the Code of Federal Regulations. This edition incorporates all GSAM changes issued through May 6, 2009, including complete rewrites for GSAR parts 509, 525, 528, 533, 537, 542, 543 and 549. The regulatory content follows the format used by the General Service Administration by shading GSAR content to help professionals easily distinguish and identify it from the internal policy material.

“Compliance with the GSAM is mandatory, so it's critical that anyone who works on GSA contracts, whether for the government or industry, has access to and follows these requirements,” said Aaron Broaddus, managing editor for CCH’s government contracts group. “CCH’s General Services Administration Acquisition Manual provides a convenient, easy-to-use source that includes the latest regulatory changes and agency guidance.”

The General Services Administration Acquisition Manual covers GSAM Subchapters A through I, including important topics such as:

  • Competition and Acquisition Planning;
  • Contracting Methods and Contract Types;
  • General Contracting Requirements;
  • Contract Management;
  • Clauses and Forms; and
  • Special Contracting Programs.

Also included are important changes concerning bonds and insurance; contractor qualifications; protests, disputes and appeals; termination of contracts; acquisitions of security and law enforcement; and more.

A comprehensive index is also included, as well as an appendix with the complete CCH General Services Administration Authorized Federal Supply Schedule for Tax and Accounting, Legal and Business Compliance publications.
