2008 MediRegs User Conference Set for July 31-August 1

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., May 22, 2008) – The 2008 CCH MediRegs User Conference for medical compliance professionals will take place July 31 - August 1, 2008 at the University of Chicago Gleacher Center in Chicago (www.MediRegs.com). The event brings together industry authorities and working practitioners to share best practices, explore industry trends and help organizations use intelligent solutions to achieve greater success. CCH, a part of Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, is a leading provider of health law information, software and services.

“We’re looking to build on the success of our first User Conference last year,” said Steve Lefar, head of the MediRegs Group. “Those who attended said it was an invaluable learning experience, and we think this year’s conference will be even better, with even more content and new opportunities for peer-to-peer interaction.”

Conference highlights include a nationally recognized keynote speaker and informative sessions built around the themes of compliance, enterprise risk management and reimbursement. Specific topics include:

  • Assessing Compliance Risk via Compliance Risk Categories;
  • Automating Conflicts of Interest and Code of Conduct Management;
  • Preparing and Dealing with RACs;
  • Using ComplyTrack to Report the Board;
  • Case Studies in Activity and Event Management;
  • Case Studies in Contract Management;
  • Implementing Risk Management via ComplyTrack;
  • Redevelopment of Risk Rating Method;
  • Using ComplyTrack to Conduct Reimbursement and Coding Audits;
  • What’s New in Medical Necessity?;
  • Using Reimbursement and Coding Tools to Improve Compliance Performance; and
  • Consolidating Coding Resources for Enhanced Performance and Cost Savings.

CEUs Available from the Compliance Certification Board (CCB)

The program has been approved for 14.4 Care Certification Compliance (CCB) Continuing Education Units in Compliance Training and Education and Auditing and Monitoring for Compliance.

Peer-to-peer Opportunities

“One of the biggest benefits of the User Conference is the opportunity to learn from your peers, both in the formal sessions and informal get-togethers,” said Lefar. “Professionals in the compliance field need to see how their counterparts at other institutions have solved problems, to learn what works and what doesn’t in the real world, and how they can adapt best practices to their specific situations.”

Attendees also have the opportunity to speak directly to MediRegs executives and senior editorial and development teams to help shape new products and enhancements.

“Our aim is to build a community, not only among our users but between users, editorial and development people,” Lefar said. “We at MediRegs see this as a valuable opportunity to get feedback from end users and refine our products to better meet their needs.”
