CCH Securities Law Expert Launches New Blog on Securities Regulation

Site Powered by Leading Securities Specialist Jim Hamilton

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., July 6, 2006) – CCH Securities Law Principal Analyst Jim Hamilton, JD, LLM, has launched a new blog—Jim Hamilton’s World of Securities – to cover every level of securities regulation as it relates to public companies, accountants and auditors, broker-dealers, foreign issuers, hedge funds and others conducting a series of transactions and activities such as acquisitions, financial reporting, private placements, securitization and derivatives trading. Importantly, the blog is also a forum to discuss Sarbanes-Oxley issues. The new blog, at jimhamiltonblog.blogspot.com, launched on July 5, 2006. CCH, a leading provider of corporate and securities information, is part of the Wolters Kluwer Law & Business group.

“As a CCH securities law analyst, I’ve authored explanations and commentary about this world for decades, but rarely have I had the chance to converse with a broad community about the nuances and deeper meaning of securities regulations,” said Hamilton. “Jim Hamilton’s World of Securities Regulation is that forum. The blog is designed to highlight issues of special importance to securities lawyers and their clients, and to encourage a dialogue with an emphasis on SEC rulemaking, industry trends and the many curiosities that inhabit this space.”

“The blog should provide a captivating forum for those who are dedicated to this specialized area of law to connect and gain different perspectives on new developments in securities regulation,” Hamilton said.

Hamilton has been tracking, analyzing and explaining securities law and regulation for nearly 30 years as an analyst for CCH. He has written and spoken extensively on federal securities law and has been cited as an authority by a federal court. His analysis of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Sarbanes-Oxley Manual: A Handbook for the Act and SEC Rules, is considered a definitive explanation of the Act. Other works by Hamilton include the popular guidebook Responsibilities of Corporate Officers and Directors under Federal Securities Law, the Guide to Internal Controls, and Informal Corporate Disclosure under Federal Securities Law.

In addition, Hamilton serves as a leading contributor to the industry-standard publication, CCH Federal Securities Law Reporter, as well as related publications SEC Filings Insight, PCAOB Reporter, Derivatives Regulation Law Reporter, Corporate Secretary’s Guide and International Securities Outlook. Hamilton received a JD from Stetson University College of Law and an LLM from New York University School of Law. Readers may contact Hamilton by e-mail at james.hamilton@wolterskluwer.com, or by phone at 847-267-2320.
