CCH Disclosures Checklist Now on AICPA Public Company Audit Firm Site

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., February 23, 2006) – Members of the AICPA’s Center for Public Company Audit Firms (CPCAF or the Center) will now have access to the SEC Disclosures Checklist tool from CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a leading provider of tax and accounting information, software and services (CCHGroup.com). The CCH SEC Disclosures Checklist tool assists firms in performing high quality public company audits by ensuring that these companies are complying with the disclosure requirements under SEC rules and regulations.

“We’re happy to make the checklist available to Center members through their web site and we’re sure they’ll find it extremely valuable in meeting the ever-more-stringent SEC requirements for auditing public companies,” said Mike Sabbatis, CCH vice president of sales and marketing.

The SEC Disclosures Checklist tool is normally available as part of the CCH Accounting Research Manager®, the premier research database of accounting, auditing, SEC and governmental authoritative literature and interpretive guidance (www.accountingresearchmanager.com). It contains information useful to auditors on SEC requirements above and beyond U.S. GAAP. Organized by accounting topic, it provides background material and references to the source material and identifies disclosure requirements for financial statements for commercial industries. The Checklist tool also provides a column for users to note that the disclosure requirements have been met and includes an area to enter workpaper references. The completed checklist can be placed in annual or quarterly workpapers to provide support for the firm’s audit of the disclosures in a public company’s financial statements. This product is also available as an annual print publication.

CCH has committed to providing the Center with the updated CCH SEC Disclosures Checklist every quarter. The current version is updated as of December 31, 2005. To ensure that member firms are utilizing the most current CCH SEC Disclosures Checklist, the Center will post an updated checklist to its web site and notify member firms through electronic messaging every time an updated version is available. Member firms are encouraged to review the Center’s Alerts or other electronic messaging on a timely basis to stay current with these important updates.
