Microsoft Corporation Showcases Next Generation Desktop to Tax and Accounting Professionals at CCH User Conference

(SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ., November 8, 2005) – CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a leading provider of tax, audit and accounting information, software and services, and Microsoft Corporation, the world leader in software applications, are presenting Microsoft’s next generation of Microsoft Office (Office 12) and Microsoft Vista (the next operating platform) today at the CCH User Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

“CCH is using Microsoft products to enhance customers’ everyday productivity and we see this as a great extension of the usability of Microsoft products,” said Keith White, Microsoft general manager, Information Worker Marketing.

The Microsoft presentation on November 8 will provide a preview for conference attendees of where Microsoft is going with its productivity tools and with the capabilities of the latest platform.

“CCH is anxious to show tax and accounting professionals how both Microsoft and CCH are focused on making them more productive by focusing on the work they do each and every day, ” said Jeff Gramlich, CCH vice president of business development.

“In our ongoing efforts to understand our customers’ workflow needs, we continue to see Microsoft products, such as Word and Excel, being used every day. CCH is focused on leveraging this skill set by seamlessly integrating these tools into our research and software products.”

The Best of Both Worlds

The focus of CCH is to leverage common tools and platforms in the marketplace.

“We believe the distinguishing factor in our market is the quality of our content and software products. Utilizing Microsoft tools – especially with the new features in Office 12 and Vista – will allow us to enhance our leadership position,” noted Gramlich.

In its market, CCH currently has the leadership position in software and research with such products as The ProSystem fx® Office, an award-winning integrated software suite designed to support all areas of tax and auditing work as well as help firms move toward a paperless work environment; CCH® Tax Research NetWork™, an intuitive, online solution leveraging CCH’s authoritative content; and Accounting Research Manager™, a comprehensive online database of accounting, auditing, governmental and SEC material and interpretive guidance.

“We are pleased to provide conference attendees with a first-hand look at this exciting new Microsoft release.  We have a history of working closely with Microsoft and our products continue to leverage, and tightly integrate with, Microsoft technologies and Office tools.  This latest release is very welcome and we look forward to fully leveraging the latest enhancements,” said Gramlich.
