ProSystem fx Engagement™ 2.7 Adds Even Greater Functionality To CCH’s Paperless Engagement & Trial Balance Solution

(TORRANCE, CA., September 9, 2002) – CCH Tax Compliance announced today the release of ProSystem fx Engagement^TM 2.7, a fully integrated, paperless engagement system. ProSystem fx Engagement, formerly ePaceENGAGEMENT, streamlines tax and trial balance engagements and enables firms to increase efficiency by automating workpaper preparation, management and workflow within a state-of-the-art paperless engagement system.

This latest version includes a variety of enhancements designed to improve performance and ease of use, including expanded account capabilities, simultaneous reviewer approvals, remote synchronization and significantly improved installation features.

With added speed and performance, ProSystem fx Enagagement’s trial balance functionality has been expanded dramatically. Whereas the previous limit was 8,000 accounts, customers can now have trial balances in excess of 32,000 accounts.

Firms also can take advantage of added collaboration and workpaper management. With ProSystem fx Engagement 2.7, users can publish Microsoft® Excel workpapers to easily share with individuals outside of the firm. Additionally, workpaper signoff has been enhanced to further increase efficiency of the review process.

Additionally, based on customer input, ProSystem fx Engagement 2.7 allows users to group accounts in the consolidated trial balance, enabling users to group accounts at the subsidiary or consolidated level, providing greater flexibility.

A cornerstone of ProSystem fx Engagement is that workpapers can be electronically distributed to, and simultaneously shared by, all engagement team members. ProSystem fx Engagement ensures data integrity by maintaining a single definitive version of each document for editing.

With 2.7, workpapers can be easily shared and synchronized in the field or when a network environment is not available by packaging the entire binder into a single file known as a Binder Package. Binder Packages too large for a single disk may span multiple disks, making synchronization an easy and affordable process for any firm.

The installation process has also been streamlined. ProSystem fx Engagement 2.7 includes a Workstation Setup option, allowing easy installation via the network for both the Administrator and Client modules to workstations without the need for traditional CD installation. New options also are available for Citrix environments as well as Miller & McGladrey titles.

ProSystem fx Engagement is fully integrated with ProSystem fx Tax, the industry’s premier tax compliance system, used by more than 20,000 firms nationwide. ProSystem fx Tax users can easily import trial balance numbers from ProSystem fx Engagement and store PDF copies of tax returns in Engagement binders through a simple built-in Wizard.
