CCH INCORPORATED Names Bonar Publisher For Federal And State Tax Group

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., January 23, 2002) – CCH INCORPORATED (CCH), a leading provider of tax and business law information and software announced today that James de Gaspé Bonar has been named publisher of its Federal and State Tax (FAST) group. He succeeds Kevin Robert, who recently was named president and CEO of CCH Tax Compliance.

Most recently Bonar was president and CEO of CCH Canadian, CCH INCORPORATED’s $41 million sister-company based in Toronto. As publisher of the FAST group, Bonar will be responsible for U. S. Publishing’s largest business unit. The country’s most respected and largest provider of federal, state, international and estate tax law information and software, the CCH FAST unit produces 150 Internet, CD-ROM and print products for tax, accounting, legal and financial planning professionals and corporations. Its most noted products include the CCH Internet Tax Research NetWork, available on Tax.CCHGroup, the tax and accounting destination site, CCH Client Relate, U.S. Master Tax Guide and the Standard Federal Tax Reporter.

Bonar has 15 years of publishing experience and joined CCH Canadian five years ago. Prior to being named CEO of the company, he held positions as vice president of sales, marketing and customer satisfaction and general manager of the company’s French-language subsidiary, Publications CCH ltée.

Before joining CCH Canadian, he was vice president and publisher of Sogides ltée, the leading French-language trade book company in Canada. He also was head of Literature and Publishing for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada and a literary awards officer for the Canada Council.
